What is Melasma?
Melasma is a common skin condition that causes dark, patchy discoloration on the face, particularly on the cheeks, forehead, and upper lip. It’s often triggered by sun exposure and hormonal changes, like pregnancy or birth control pills. While it’s not harmful, melasma can be bothersome for some people.

Cosmelan is a depigmenting method that removes spots fully and prevents their reappearance for a short-term outcome, while being able to maintain hyperpigmentations under control for a long-lasting outcome.
Cosmelan is a unique combination of active ingredients of proven efficacy that acts on the entire process of spot formation to remove the accumulation of melanin and inhibit the formation of new spots.
Individuals over 18 with significant hyperpigmentation or uneven skin tone, also who are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
Most patients experience very little discomfort. Patients describe the LaseMD treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations, but generally comfortable.
Being that this a multi-step treatment plan, results may take up to 3 to 8 months to see final results. With continued treatment, your skin will continue to improve over time.
Patients may experience a burning sensation for 1-2 hours immediately after the treatment. A fan will help cool the skin and may provide relief. Usually, any crust will separate naturally within 5-7 days after the treatment. Swelling (mild to moderate) may occur after treatment and is normal. Sun exposure should be avoided for the duration of the Advanced Melasma Treatment. Sun and heat can activate melasma so strict sun avoidance is required during the 9 months of treatment. If you must be outdoors, reapply sunscreen every 2 hours and wear a wide-brim hat.
