LaseMD FAQs

What is LaseMD?

LaseMD is a laser skin resurfacing treatment that stimulates the body’s natural collagen and elastin production to provide healthier, younger-looking skin. This technology is possible through non-ablative laser energy, which gently heats targeted tissue in the deeper layers of the skin while leaving the surface layer intact, setting this laser treatment apart from others. This treatment has typically little to no downtime, compared to the full ablative lasers of the past.

The treatment is safe and effective for all skin types, and customizable to the severity of the clients’ skin concerns. This treatment is a simple, yet powerful way to repair sun-damaged skin, reduce fine lines, and renew yourself.

What areas can be treated with LaseMD?

LaseMD can be safely used on any area of the body where you have fine lines and sun damage. The most common area of treatment is the face, but many clients see dramatic results when treating the neck, chest, arms, hands, and shoulders.

Am I a candidate for LaseMD?

LaseMD is good for anyone with sun damage, fine lines, hyperpigmentation and melasma, and anyone looking for a brighter skin tone and improved skin texture. It is safe for all skin types and colors.

How many LaseMD treatments will I need?

The number of treatments needed in order to achieve optimal results will vary from patient to patient and depends on the conditions being treated. During a consultation, our Medical Providers will review your desired goals, skin type, and main skin concerns. We will then help create a personally customized treatment plan that will help get optimal results.

What does a LaseMD treatment feel like?

As the laser passes over your skin, a feeling of warm tingling is common. The intensity of this sensation varies based on the type of treatment being performed, but most clients do not require numbing cream or any type of pain controlling agent. After the session is complete, it is normal for the area treated to feel hot for 4-6 hours, comparable to a sunburn sensation.

What results can I expect from my LaseMD treatment?

You should see a visible improvement in your skin tone and texture following your first laser skin resurfacing treatment. Continued improvement of the skin will be seen with each additional treatment session. Individual results may vary from patient to patient.

What is the downtime with LaseMD?

The downtime varies from 4-6 hours of mild redness like a sunburn, to a few days depending on which type of treatment and intensity you choose. You can wear makeup 24 hours after the treatment, and even attend events, or even return to work. Most clients report returning to their normal routines within a day or two of their treatment sessions. Our expert staff will discuss further post-treatment skin care with you following your LaseMD treatment to ensure you achieve the best results.
