Meet Esthetician Holly Harrington

Holly From Revive MedSpa In San Diego

“For me, there is no better feeling than treating my client’s acne so they are able to feel confident in their skin, even without makeup.”

We asked our Esthetician Holly a few questions about her role at Revive and how she can help you achieve your best skin!

1) What is your education and/or specialties?

I attended The Skin Institute and Dixie State University, both located in St George, UT. I received my Master Esthetics License and Degree in General Science. I love to always be continuing my education by attending conferences, spa shows, and keeping up with whatever is new to the esthetics world!

2) What is your favorite area to treat or procedure to do?

I love acne treatments. For me, there is no better feeling than treating my client’s acne so they are able to feel confident in their skin, even without makeup. It is the best being able to make a plan and watch my clients glow with results from both their acne treatments and homecare.

3) What’s your favorite product and why?

I love SkinMedica’s HA⁵ Rejuvenating Hydrator and have been using it nightly. It smoothes fine lines and wrinkles while supporting our skin’s natural ability to retain moisture. Using Hyaluronic Acid is a great product for anti-aging, longer lasting injectable results, and overall skin health for any skin type.

4) What do you love about working at Revive?

I am surrounded by the best of the best! Revive’s leadership, providers, consultants, coordinators, and our patients truly make everyday so great. I have complete trust in everyone I get to work with. I feel so grateful that I continually get to learn something new from my team every day! Everyone at Revive is truly the most caring, knowledgeable, and trustworthy team that I have been a part of. We have so much fun while working hard everyday for our clients!

5) What’s a fact most clients don’t know that you wish they did?

Even if someone is prone to oily skin, they still need a moisturizer! When a hydrating agent is not used on already acneic or oily skin, the sebaceous glands in the skin believe that they are not getting enough hydration, and therefore will begin to overproduce oil. This results in more breakouts and excessive oil than to begin with.

6) What do you wish you would’ve known about skincare when you were younger?

As I grew up, using sun protection was never something I would think about. I naturally have a darker complexion and would be able to spend all day in the sun and not have any type of burn. However, whether someone burns or not, sun damage is still happening every time the skin is not protected. Everyone should be using an SPF daily to keep complexion even, prevent premature aging, and enhance skin health. Not to mention lowering skin cancer risk! Using an SPF is the #1 way to slow down skin aging, and that should be reason enough to use it daily.
