We asked Esthetician Jazmyn about herself and her role at Revive Eastlake, keep reading to learn more!

What made you want to become an esthetician?

Since I was young my, “I want to be….when I grow up,” was to always help others. I wasn’t exactly sure specifically how I wanted to accomplish my childhood dream, but I knew one day I would.

I have always loved skincare growing up, I can thank my Madre for that, but it wasn’t until I went through chemotherapy that I solidified my current passion. I went through multiple rounds of chemo that caused my skin to freak out with breakouts, sores, and crazy discoloration/hyperpigmentation. The journey back to healthy clear skin made me realize this is how I want to help others! To feel/look beautiful and feel themselves again!

How long have you been in the industry?

I’ve been in the aesthetics/beauty industry for about 6 years now, and have been an esthetician or coming up on 3 of those years. I love what I do so much!

What treatments do you specialize in?

I specialize in acne and aging treatments, specifically focusing on chemical peels and our popular DiamondGlow Facial Treatment Outside of the standard beauty treatment, I take pride in creating a relaxing therapeutic, and safe environment for all my clients who enter the treatment room.

What is your favorite treatment to get?

My favorite treatment at Revive is without a doubt, the Diamond Glow Facial! It extracts, exfoliates, and infuses with the additional plus of lymphatic drainage in one treatment! Leaving my skin insanely smooth hydrated, glowing bright, and feeling as if I’m gliding on air. It’s the perfect treatment for everyone, so I highly recommend you try it if you haven’t already. Bonus if you combine it with one of our chemical peels!

What do you wish you would’ve known about skincare/beauty when you were younger?

Honestly, the one thing I wish I would have known growing up about skin care, is that your skin is your biggest organ! It wasn’t until I was in esthetician school that I found out that mind-blowing information. And now that I know, I think of my skin differently and treat it differently. I think if I had known sooner I would have done things differently growing up. Again, I had a decent skin care regimen, but the products I used weren’t the greatest. So now I make it apparent to educate everyone who comes into my treatment room, that their skin is an organ and deserves to be treated as such.

What do you do in your free time?

Aside from staying up late continuously educating myself on skin care products, in my free time, I try my best to enjoy life in every way possible! Whether it’s exercising by taking a walk in the lovely Balboa Park or on the beachfront or attending a yoga or pilates class to get my body loose. To treating my skin in other ways like sitting in an infrared sauna and getting a massage. Even trying a new restaurant with my besties or going over to my grandparent’s house to raid their kitchen.

Favorite celebrities who have gotten work done?

I wouldn’t say a favorite celeb, but I’ve heard that Chrissy Teigen loves to get Diamond Glow facials!

Favorite aesthetic trends right now?

I absolutely love the fact that taking care of your skin has become so trendy these days. Granted I think proper education needs improvement, but the fact that so many individuals [young and mature], want healthier skin — makes me smile uncontrollably! We didn’t have skincare like this while I was growing up, so I just think it’s so cool it’s cool with this generation.
