Morpheus8 is a safe, minimally-invasive microneedling skin treatment that helps improve skin texture, reduce skin laxity on areas like the stomach, and improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and undereye bags. The treatment also can treat and reduce the appearance of a wide array of scars.
Can Morpheaus8 help reduce the appearance of your scars and return a vibrant, youthful look? The beauty experts of Revive Med Spa provide the answers.
Morpheus8 Radiofrequency Microneedling
Morpheus8 uses targeted microneedling with radio frequency energy to stimulate collagen.
During the treatment, multiple fine needles lightly puncture the top layer of the skin, creating microscopic holes that encourage cell turnover and trigger the production of healthy skin.
Over the next 6 to 12 weeks, this collagen production helps tighten skin, reducing sagging skin and leading to a smoother skin appearance and reduced scarring.
Morpheus8 is a popular treatment because it’s affordable compared to other outpatient beauty procedures. There is minimal risk of adverse side effects beyond temporary, slight bruising that should resolve within two weeks.
Morpheus8 for Acne Scars
Morpheus8 is often used to treat acne scarring, as microneedling treatments can have a dramatic effect. While Morpheus8 is not recommended for active acne, it often helps smooth and improve the appearance of this scarring once the acne has healed.
Morpheus8 helps reduce the appearance of a variety of different types of acne scars. These include:
Boxcar Scars
Boxcar scars are one of the most common types of acne scars. An atrophic scar, a boxcar scar appears as a round or oval-like depression in your skin. They typically have sharp vertical edges.
Shallow boxcar scars tend to respond best to microneedling treatments. However, deeper atrophic scars may be harder to completely smooth and erase.
Icepick Scars
Ice pick scars are narrower than atrophic boxcar scars but much deeper. These scars are often more noticeable and are characterized by sharp, narrow pits in the skin.
Ice pick scars are often caused by severe acne breakouts, such as pimples, cysts, and abscesses that develop deep in pores. While ice pick scars are frequently more challenging to smooth than atrophic scars, Morpheus8 can help reduce their visibility.
Deep Rolling Scars
Deep rolling scars often have sloped sides, and they are typically wider than 4–5 millimeters. They occur when bands of scar tissue form under the skin, giving skin a rolling or uneven appearance.
Deep rolling scars often come hand-in-hand with other types of Ice pick and Boxcar scars, raised marks, and discoloration. For that reason, they can be difficult to conceal with makeup. Fortunately, Morpheus8 microneedling can help reduce their overall appearance, helping to smooth skin and improve contour.
Microneedling for Stretch Marks
Stretch marks are scars that develop after skin must stretch or shrink in a brief period of time. These scars form after the collagen and elastin rupture, and the ensuing healing process results in discoloration and uneven skin. Morpheus8 is often used to minimize and reduce a variety of different stretch marks.
Pregnancy Stretch Mark Treatments
Morpheus8 can effectively reduce the visibility of pregnancy stretch marks all across the body. By treating the damaged underlying layers of skin and promoting cell growth, Morpheus8 helps the body reset its previous healing process, reducing the aftereffects of bodily trauma.
Microneedling for Surgical Scars
Microneedling is commonly used to treat and reduce surgical scars. This is true for any surgical procedure all across the body—not just cosmetic procedures.
C Section Scars
Many women use Morpheus8 to treat C Section scars. With microneedling treatments, they often benefit from smoothed skin and reduced discoloration.
