“Acne or no acne – moisturizer is key!”

We asked Registered Nurse Kylee a few questions about her role at Revive and how she strives to provide the best service and experience for her patients.

1) What is your education and/or specialties?

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Seattle University in 2014. My background is in Orthopedics but I transitioned my career path to Aesthetic Nursing in 2017. I am so passionate about skincare and learning all the tips and tricks for anti-aging. I have been highly trained with various aesthetic treatments but specialize in laser and microneedling treatments at Revive Med Spa.

2) What is your favorite procedure to do?

I LOVE microneedling. Collagen is vital for skin elasticity. As we age, the collagen in our skin breaks down and depletes, which leads to fine lines and wrinkles. Microneedling treatments stimulate collagen and elastic to help prevent and reverse the signs of aging.

3) What’s your favorite product and why?

The SkinMedica Total Defense and Repair Tinted sunscreen is my favorite! It is moisturizing, protects your skin from the sun, AND provides a nice tinted coverage in lieu of foundation.

4) What do you love about working at Revive Med Spa?

Not only am I surrounded by the most kind, experienced, and supportive colleagues, I also feel so grateful to be able to help my patients feel and look their best on a daily basis.

5) What’s a fact most clients don’t know that you wish they did?

Sunscreen is EVERYTHING. We are so lucky to live in sunny San Diego but that also means we need to be so much more diligent about protecting our skin. Often times we don’t realize how much sun exposure we get from driving in the car. Make sure to use sunscreen on not only your face but your neck, arms, and hands, as well!

6) What do you wish you would’ve known about skincare when you were younger?

I wish I would have known that oily skin needs moisturizer too. I struggled with pretty bad acne throughout my teenage years and was convinced that I had to strip all of the oils from my skin to allow the acne to clear up. Acne or no acne – moisturizer is key! There are so many different product formulas available to fit each individual skin type and we can help you choose one!
